    Does the boom attach to the mast as low as shown in this photo?

    Hi Brian,- while this boat may have started out with a sprit boom, it ended up with a regular boom on a marconi sail. I think this is maybe an early pic with the sprit boom just hoisted away before or after a sail, and that end is nowhere near its setting position in either case. It may even be that we are looking at the yard, not the boom.
